The Threeworlds Fusion Collapsible Fire Dragon Staff combines a travel-friendly three-piece Fusion staff with your choice of dragon staff hubs and Bonobo Flow Fire Spokes. The Fusion pressure-fit system allows the staff to break down quickly for transportation and storage, then reassemble into a full-length fire dragon staff when it’s time to spin.
Choose between Bonobo Flow, Threeworlds V3, or Threeworlds Ultra hubs and configure your staff with 6 or 8 fire spokes. Compared to our Contact & Dragon Fire Staff, this configuration eliminates the additional contact staff end wicks for a lighter setup focused specifically on dragon staff spinning.
Choose Your Dragon Staff Hubs
Each hub option offers a different combination of weight, mounting style, and convenience.
- Bonobo Flow Hubs: Our most budget-friendly option and the heaviest of the three at 4.52 oz (128 g) per hub. These two-piece aluminum hubs clamp around the outside of the staff tubing, adding more weight near the ends for increased rotational inertia.
- Threeworlds V3 Hubs: Precision-machined from 7075 aluminum, these removable clamp-style hubs weigh 3.63 oz (103 g) each. They offer a lighter alternative to Bonobo Flow Hubs while maintaining the same interchangeable spoke compatibility.
- Threeworlds Ultra Hubs: The lightest option at 3.10 oz (88 g) per hub. Ultra Hubs use an internal Fusion pressure-fit connection, allowing the complete hub and spoke assembly to attach or detach with a quick twist.
6 or 8 Fire Spokes
Each hub accepts either 3 or 4 spokes, allowing you to configure your staff with 6 or 8 total fire heads. A 6-spoke setup keeps the overall weight lower, while 8 spokes add more end weight, rotational inertia, and, naturally, more fire.
Bonobo Flow Fire Spokes
The included Bonobo Flow Dragon Staff Fire Spokes are manufactured specifically for Bonobo Flow and designed to be compatible with Bonobo Flow, Threeworlds V3, and Threeworlds Ultra hubs.
- Semi-Rigid Steel Cable: Provides a sturdy spoke structure with a small amount of give to help absorb impacts from drops.
- Pure Kevlar Wick: Each spoke is wrapped with replaceable Kevlar wick for a substantial flame.
- 7.5 inch (19 cm) Long: Provides additional end weighting while keeping the fire positioned away from the central staff.
- Serviceable Design: Wick can be replaced when worn rather than replacing the entire spoke.
Collapsible Three-Piece Fusion Staff
The Threeworlds Fusion system allows the staff to separate into three sections for easier transportation and storage. Its expanding pressure-fit connectors secure the sections together with a simple twisting motion, creating a stable connection without permanent fasteners through the tubing.
- Travel Friendly: Breaks down into three sections instead of requiring transportation of a full-length staff.
- Material Options: Choose between durable 7075 aluminum and lightweight carbon fiber.
- Grip Options: Available with EPDM, F-Grip, or silicone tubing.
- Modular Construction: Compatible with a wide range of Fusion components and accessories.

Built for Modularity
Your fire setup doesn’t have to stay a fire setup. Bonobo Flow, V3, and Ultra hubs also accept compatible Lumi LED Spokes and Spiral Dragon Claws, allowing the same staff and hubs to be converted for LED or daytime flow.
The Fusion staff can also be expanded with other compatible components as your setup evolves. Browse our Staff Components for additional options.
Why Choose a Pure Fire Dragon Staff?
- Lighter Setup: Eliminating contact staff end wicks keeps this configuration lighter than our Contact & Dragon Fire Staff Kit.
- Travel Friendly: The three-piece staff breaks down for easier transportation and storage.
- Customizable: Choose between three hub systems, 6 or 8 spokes, two staff materials, and multiple grip options.
- Expandable: Swap to compatible LED or daytime spokes or explore other Fusion components without replacing the entire staff.
What’s Included

Fire Safety & Maintenance
Fire spinning involves inherent risks and requires proper training, safety equipment, and precautions. Always inspect your staff, connectors, hubs, spokes, and Kevlar wicks before use. Make sure all components are securely attached, and never spin fire without appropriate safety measures in place.
Before lighting up, please review our Safety Disclaimer, Fire Safety for Flow Arts Guide, and Fire Prop Maintenance Guide for important safety information and care instructions.
If you’re looking for a dedicated fire dragon staff that travels well without giving up modularity, this is the core setup. Pick your hubs, choose how much fire you want, and try not to spend the entire first burn admiring it.
Variations
Grip
- EPDM: A synthetic black rubber grip that is durable, padded, and reliable in less-than-ideal conditions. It maintains traction well around sweat, humidity, and dust and tends to become grippier as it breaks in. New EPDM may leave a small amount of black residue on your hands at first, but it washes off easily. It requires little maintenance.
- F-Grip: A textured natural black rubber tube grip that combines some of the best characteristics of EPDM and silicone. It is easy to clean like silicone while maintaining traction better when sweat, moisture, or dirt are involved. It requires no break-in period and provides consistent grip from the start. F-Grip is currently our most popular all-around option and is the heaviest of the standard grips.
- Silicone: High-temperature silicone tubing with a lightly textured surface. It is one of the tackiest options when clean and dry and is also the easiest to clean. A quick wipe with water or rubbing alcohol can restore its tackiness when dirty. Silicone can lose more traction than EPDM or F-Grip when wet or sweaty, so occasional cleaning helps keep it performing consistently.
Not sure which one to choose? Read our Staff Grip Guide for a more detailed comparison of EPDM, F-Grip, silicone, and other common staff grip materials.
Material
- 7075 Aluminum: A high-strength aluminum alloy that is heavier and more budget-friendly than carbon fiber. The additional shaft weight creates a more substantial feel and can make the staff feel more stable while learning. Aluminum is also more tolerant of repeated drops and concentrated pressure from externally mounted dragon staff components.
- Carbon Fiber: Lightweight and strong, making it a popular choice for intermediate and advanced spinners who prefer a lighter, more responsive staff. Reducing the weight of the shaft shifts a greater percentage of the overall weight toward the ends, which can create a more pronounced rotational and contact feel. Carbon fiber is less tolerant of concentrated crushing or clamping forces than aluminum, so we recommend reinforcing the ends with 22 mm Fusion Removable End Caps when using externally mounted dragon staff hubs or heads.

Length
For a dragon staff, a good starting point is generally around chin height. Your preferred length can vary with your height, experience, and spinning style. For end-wick dragon staffs, we generally recommend approximately 4 to 6 inch (10 to 15 cm) longer than chin height.

Hubs
- Bonobo Flow Hubs: Our most budget-friendly option. These two-piece aluminum hubs clamp around the outside of the staff tubing and are the heaviest of the three options. A great choice for spinners who prefer a heavier dragon staff.
- Threeworlds V3 Hubs: Precision-machined from 7075 aluminum, these hubs offer a lighter alternative to Bonobo Flow Hubs while maintaining a secure, removable clamp-style connection.
- Threeworlds Ultra Hubs: The lightest option, featuring an internal Fusion pressure-fit connection that allows the entire hub and spoke assembly to be attached or removed with a quick twist.
All three hub options accommodate 3 or 4 compatible spokes per hub. Bonobo Flow and V3 hubs clamp around the outside of the staff, while Ultra hubs connect internally through the Fusion system.
Spoke Quantity
- 6 Spokes: Three fire spokes per hub for a lighter setup with less rotational inertia.
- 8 Spokes: Four fire spokes per hub for additional end weight, greater rotational inertia, and more fire.
