Threeworlds Spiral Dragon Claw Spokes turn a daytime dragon staff into something considerably less boring. Their curved polyurethane design creates a distinctive spiral pattern in motion while providing the weight and durability needed for everyday dragon staff practice, daytime performances, festivals, and learning new tricks without sacrificing your fire or LED gear to the pavement.

Each Dragon Claw can be installed in two different orientations, allowing you to change the direction of the spiral and experiment with different visual configurations across your staff. Choose from Blue, Copper, Glow, Orange, Pink, Purple, Silver, or Turquoise.

Practice Without Beating Up Your Fire & LED Spokes

Spiral Dragon Claws are particularly useful when learning new dragon staff moves. Drops are part of the process, but repeatedly dropping fire spokes wears down Kevlar and dropping LED spokes puts unnecessary impacts on considerably more expensive electronics.

Using durable practice spokes lets you work through new tricks, transitions, and ground movements without putting that same wear and tear on your performance equipment. No fuel, no batteries, and considerably less concern when a new trick decides to introduce your dragon staff to the floor.

Distinctive Spiral Design

Unlike straight dragon staff spokes, each Dragon Claw sweeps into a broad curve that creates a spiral-like visual as the staff rotates. The curved profile gives a daytime staff a much more distinctive appearance even without fire or LEDs.

The claws can also be mounted in either orientation. Flip the direction of individual claws to change the visual configuration of your staff, or keep them aligned for a more uniform spiral pattern.

Durable Polyurethane Construction

The claws are made from tough polyurethane designed to tolerate the drops and impacts that come with regular dragon staff practice. An 8 mm stainless steel rod forms the mounting point, providing a strong connection between the flexible claw and compatible dragon staff hubs.

At approximately 3.67 oz (104 g) each, the claws also provide substantial weight away from the center of the staff, creating the rotational momentum and stability expected from a full-size dragon staff setup.

Flow toys are props and tools used in flow arts, which is a movement based art-form that involves object manipulation. Flow props are extensions of your body and tools for self expression.

Despite being called “toys”, flow toys are meant for everyone and you will find that a majority of flow artists are actually adults! Contemporary flow arts include many modalities like dance, martial arts, or just “free-flow.”

The best flow toy to start with is the one that you’re most excited to learn. Although some props might be more difficult to learn than others, this differs greatly from one person to another. We found that the more excited you are to learn a specific prop, the more likely you will be to practice and learn quickly.

Stick props like dragon staff, contact staff, or spin staff can be easier for some since its a more static prop that you can hold onto. Rope props like poi and rope dart require more plane control at the beginning but are also much easier to travel with. Others like flow stars and pixel whips have their own kind of movements that don’t really fall into the other two categories we mentioned. But they’re super popular for ravers and festival goers!

We have a feeling you’ll end up owning more than one type of prop though so regardless of what your friend thinks is the best flow toy to start with, just get whatever you’re most excited to learn!

Fire dancing carries some inherent risks, but if you follow all of our fire safety instructions the risks are very avoidable. We recommend feeling super comfortable with a flow toy before lighting it on fire for the first time.

If you’re new to flow arts, we also recommend getting a daytime practice prop (or even LED prop) since you might be dropping your flow toy a lot when you’re first learning. The Kevlar on fire props can deteriorate much more quickly from repetitive drops, so practice props are ideal to keep them safe.

We have fire, LED, and daytime versions of most of our main props. Even if you can only afford one version and end up starting with a fire prop, they can be protected with wick covers. No matter what type you have, we recommend practicing on soft ground like grass to protect them as much as possible.
