The 3-Ring Fire Wand is a lightweight and approachable fire flow prop designed for dancing, expressive movement, and performance. Its long, slender shape and graduated ring design give it a distinctive silhouette that looks especially good while moving, making it a popular choice for fire dancing and belly dance performances.
The relatively simple handling also makes it a fun option for newer fire performers who want something different from poi, staffs, or fans. As with any fire prop, beginners should first become comfortable manipulating the wand unlit before adding fire.
Three-Ring Design
The base of the wand features three graduated steel rings that contribute to both its appearance and handling. The two larger rings can be used as finger grips, giving performers a couple of different ways to hold and move the wand. The smallest ring is primarily part of the connection and decorative design and is generally too small to use as a finger grip.
The circular shapes also add visual interest during dance and performance, particularly when the wand is rotated, swept through larger movements, or incorporated into belly dance and other movement-based performance styles.
Sewn Kevlar Wick
The top of the wand uses 2 inch (50mm) wide Kevlar wick sewn around a steel loop. The sewn construction provides a clean wick attachment without screws or other removable wick hardware.
Because the wick wraps around the steel frame, a small amount of metal remains exposed near the top of the torch. For this reason, this prop is not designed or recommended for fire eating. Experienced fire eaters may be familiar with techniques for working around exposed metal, but that is outside the intended use of this wand and introduces additional burn risk.
Made for Fire Dance
The 3-Ring Fire Wand is at its best when incorporated into dance, posing, sweeping movements, and other expressive fire flow. Its compact size makes it easy to incorporate into choreography without the space requirements of a larger staff or fan, while the rings give the prop a little extra visual character even before you light it.

Before use, inspect the steel frame, wick, and stitching for damage or excessive wear. For information on fueling and caring for your wick, read our Fire Prop Maintenance Guide.
Fire performance requires appropriate training, clearance, extinguishing equipment, and a trained fire safety. Please review our Fire Safety for Flow Arts guide and Safety Disclaimer before use.
Simple to move, fun to dance with, and significantly more interesting than showing up with a regular torch.
