About All Props

Flow props refer to tools used in flow arts for object manipulation. There are hundreds of props used worldwide, but some of the most common are poi, juggling props, hula hoops, and staffs (contact, dragon, or spin).

Props come in many different forms. The three main types are fire, LED, or daytime (practice) props. It is generally recommended to start with daytime or LED props because you will be dropping your props relatively often when you first start. Wick covers can help keep your fire props safe if you choose to purchase those as your beginning prop.

The most common synonyms for “flow prop” are flow tool and flow toy. Largely popularized in the late 90s and early 2000s, flow arts is now a global phenomenon that is steadily growing.
