3-Wick Lotus Fire Fans are a smaller, lighter, and more beginner-friendly version of our 5-Wick Lotus Fire Fans. They keep the classic Lotus-inspired frame and Russian-style grip while reducing the overall size, weight, and amount of fire you’re managing.
That makes them a great entry point for performers learning fire fans, as well as experienced fan spinners who simply prefer a lighter and more compact setup. Each fan is constructed from coated steel and finished with three sewn pure Kevlar wicks.
A More Approachable Fire Fan
With three wicks instead of five, these fans carry less wick and produce a smaller flame profile than the full-size 5-Wick Lotus Fans. Their compact frame and lower weight also make them easier to maneuver while learning basic spins, transitions, and dance-oriented fan movements.
Beginner-friendly does not mean beginner-proof. We strongly recommend developing control with unlit fans before adding fuel and fire to the equation.
Russian-Style Grip
Each Lotus Fan uses a large 3.5 inch (89mm) Russian-style grip. Russian grips are typically held with four fingers through the ring and the thumb remaining outside, allowing the fan to rotate and move freely around the hand.
This grip style is especially popular for dance-oriented fan flow with sweeping movements, continuous rotations, and fluid transitions. Compared with tech-style fans, which use a smaller inner ring held with two or three fingers for more direct rotational control, Russian grips generally provide a more open and flowing connection to the fan. Ultimately, grip style comes down to personal preference and how you like to move.
Three Sewn Kevlar Wicks
Three flat pure Kevlar wicks are positioned around the Lotus frame to create a balanced arc of fire without the additional weight and flame of a five-wick setup. The wicks are sewn directly onto the frame for a clean finish without exposed wick-mounting hardware.
Coated Steel Lotus Frame
The steel frame provides a rigid and predictable structure while the open Lotus-inspired geometry keeps the fans relatively lightweight. The smaller dimensions also make these fans convenient for performers who find larger fire fans cumbersome or simply prefer a more compact prop.
Before use, inspect the frame, grip, stitching, and Kevlar for damage or excessive wear. For information on fueling, wick care, and general fire prop upkeep, read our Fire Prop Maintenance Guide.
Fire fans require appropriate training, clearance, protective procedures, and a trained fire safety. Please review our Fire Safety for Flow Arts guide and Safety Disclaimer before use.
Same Lotus energy, fewer things on fire. Sometimes starting with three is plenty.
