OrbPoi Pro are UltraPoi’s upgraded rechargeable LED contact poi, combining large 97 mm silicone contact heads with brighter LEDs, customizable lighting effects, durable hybrid rope, and optional rechargeable LED handles. Their spherical shape and substantial weight make them equally suited to traditional poi spinning, tosses, stalls, contact rolls, and juggling.

Compared with the standard OrbPoi, the Pro version upgrades the lighting system, tether, battery capacity, and customization options while retaining the familiar soft silicone contact-ball design.

Designed for Contact Poi

The large spherical heads give OrbPoi Pro the shape and weight needed for contact-style movement. They can roll across the hands, arms, and body while maintaining a predictable shape during tosses, catches, wraps, and stalls.

At 6.53 oz (185 g) per head, they also provide substantial momentum for conventional poi spinning. The soft silicone exterior helps make inevitable impacts more forgiving while protecting the electronics inside.

Upgraded Pro LED System

Each OrbPoi Pro head uses four bright RGB LEDs with 15 color modes and 45 flash patterns. In addition to the built-in effects, the Pro lighting system allows you to select custom colors and create your own multicolor sequences.

A demo mode can automatically cycle through effects when you’d rather spend your time spinning instead of deciding which of several dozen flashy options deserves your attention.

Rechargeable LED Heads

The OrbPoi Pro lights use built-in rechargeable lithium-ion batteries, eliminating the need for disposable batteries. Charging is handled through Micro USB, and the larger-capacity battery is designed for extended spinning sessions between charges.

The lights are accessible through the contact heads for charging and operation without requiring you to completely disassemble your poi.

Hybrid Rope Tethers

OrbPoi Pro use 3/8 inch braided hybrid rope designed to provide a balance of durability and handling for both conventional and contact poi techniques. Extra rope is included, giving you room to customize the length to your body and spinning style.

Flow toys are props and tools used in flow arts, which is a movement based art-form that involves object manipulation. Flow props are extensions of your body and tools for self expression.

Despite being called “toys”, flow toys are meant for everyone and you will find that a majority of flow artists are actually adults! Contemporary flow arts include many modalities like dance, martial arts, or just “free-flow.”

The best flow toy to start with is the one that you’re most excited to learn. Although some props might be more difficult to learn than others, this differs greatly from one person to another. We found that the more excited you are to learn a specific prop, the more likely you will be to practice and learn quickly.

Stick props like dragon staff, contact staff, or spin staff can be easier for some since its a more static prop that you can hold onto. Rope props like poi and rope dart require more plane control at the beginning but are also much easier to travel with. Others like flow stars and pixel whips have their own kind of movements that don’t really fall into the other two categories we mentioned. But they’re super popular for ravers and festival goers!

We have a feeling you’ll end up owning more than one type of prop though so regardless of what your friend thinks is the best flow toy to start with, just get whatever you’re most excited to learn!

Fire dancing carries some inherent risks, but if you follow all of our fire safety instructions the risks are very avoidable. We recommend feeling super comfortable with a flow toy before lighting it on fire for the first time.

If you’re new to flow arts, we also recommend getting a daytime practice prop (or even LED prop) since you might be dropping your flow toy a lot when you’re first learning. The Kevlar on fire props can deteriorate much more quickly from repetitive drops, so practice props are ideal to keep them safe.

We have fire, LED, and daytime versions of most of our main props. Even if you can only afford one version and end up starting with a fire prop, they can be protected with wick covers. No matter what type you have, we recommend practicing on soft ground like grass to protect them as much as possible.

We ship our products Monday-Friday from Los Angeles, CA, USA. Many of our listed products are ready-to-ship unless we have to assemble them, which can add a day or two to process.
