The Threeworlds Fusion Prism LED Contact Staff combines the portability of the Fusion modular system with a hybrid aluminum and polycarbonate contact head design. Unlike traditional LED contact staffs that rely entirely on polycarbonate tubing, the Prism incorporates aluminum components to improve rigidity and reduce unwanted flex during contact movements.
The result is a more stable, responsive feel during body rolls, pinches, stalls, and technical transitions. With rechargeable Lumi LED Light Units, interchangeable Fusion components, and your choice of handle material and grip, the Prism is built for both nighttime performances and everyday practice.
Hybrid Aluminum & Polycarbonate Construction
The Prism’s contact ends combine aluminum and polycarbonate to balance structural rigidity with impact resistance and light diffusion. This hybrid construction helps reduce the wobble commonly associated with fully polycarbonate LED staffs, creating a more predictable feel during technical contact movements.
The aluminum components provide additional structural support, while the polycarbonate sections allow light to travel through the ends for improved visibility.
Rechargeable Lumi LED Light Units
The Prism features rechargeable Lumi LED Light Units with multiple color options and lighting modes. These compact light units illuminate the contact ends, creating vibrant visual effects during nighttime spinning and performances.
- USB-C Rechargeable: Convenient charging without disposable batteries.
- Multiple Colors & Modes: Customize the appearance of your staff with different lighting effects.
- Prism End Caps: Faceted geometric shells protect the light units while adding a distinctive appearance.
Collapsible Fusion Design
Full-length contact staffs can be inconvenient to transport, especially when traveling to festivals, workshops, and performances. The Threeworlds Fusion system allows the Prism to separate into multiple sections for easier storage and transportation.
Its expanding pressure-fit connectors secure the sections together with a simple twisting motion, creating a stable connection without permanent fasteners through the tubing.
For assembly instructions and maintenance information, read our Fusion Pressure-Fit Connector Guide.
Choose Your Handle & Grip
Customize your Prism with either a lightweight carbon fiber handle or a durable 7075 aluminum handle. Both options use the same hybrid aluminum and polycarbonate contact ends, so your material selection changes the weight and feel of the central handle rather than the contact heads.
Choose between EPDM, F-Grip, and silicone tubing to find the combination of traction, cushioning, and maintenance that best suits your spinning style.
Expand Your Fusion Setup
The Prism is part of the interchangeable Threeworlds Fusion system. Its modular construction allows you to swap compatible contact ends, add fire components, or build other configurations using the same central handle.

Variations
Grip
- EPDM: A synthetic black rubber grip that is durable, padded, and reliable in less-than-ideal conditions. It maintains traction well around sweat, humidity, and dust and tends to become grippier as it breaks in. New EPDM may leave a small amount of black residue on your hands at first, but it washes off easily. It requires little maintenance.
- F-Grip: A textured natural black rubber tube grip that combines some of the best characteristics of EPDM and silicone. It is easy to clean like silicone while maintaining traction better when sweat, moisture, or dirt are involved. It requires no break-in period and provides consistent grip from the start. F-Grip is currently our most popular all-around option and is the heaviest of the standard grips.
- Silicone: High-temperature silicone tubing with a lightly textured surface. It is one of the tackiest options when clean and dry and is also the easiest to clean. A quick wipe with water or rubbing alcohol can restore its tackiness when dirty. Silicone can lose more traction than EPDM or F-Grip when wet or sweaty, so occasional cleaning helps keep it performing consistently.
Not sure which one to choose? Read our Staff Grip Guide for a more detailed comparison of EPDM, F-Grip, silicone, and other common staff grip materials.
Material
- 7075 Aluminum: A high-strength aluminum alloy that provides a heavier, more substantial feel. The additional handle weight creates a more evenly distributed weight profile throughout the staff. Aluminum is also durable and more tolerant of repeated drops and impacts, making it a reliable and budget-friendly option.
- Carbon Fiber: Lightweight and strong, making it a popular choice for spinners who prefer a lighter, more responsive staff. Since the Prism contact ends remain the same regardless of your material selection, choosing a carbon fiber handle reduces the weight of the center section while maintaining the same end weight. This creates a more pronounced end-weighted feel that can be beneficial for contact rolls and rotational momentum.
Want a deeper breakdown of the differences? Read our Aluminum vs. Carbon Fiber in Flow Props Guide.
Length
For a contact staff, we generally recommend starting around chin height, although some spinners prefer a slightly shorter staff depending on their experience and spinning style.
Read our Staff Length Guide for a more detailed breakdown of contact staff sizing and help choosing the right length.
Staff Flowers
Staff flowers help slow down rolling speed, providing more control during contact movements depending on your spinning style. They also add weight near the ends of the staff, which can improve weight distribution for contact rolls and help maintain rotational momentum.
