The Threeworlds Fusion Collapsible Pixie Dragon Staff is a compact modular setup built for portability, double dragon flow, and quicker handling. Using the Fusion Double Adapter system, two Fusion staff ends connect directly together without the standard center handle section, creating a substantially shorter dragon staff while retaining the modularity of the Fusion system.

Pixie dragons are especially useful for spinning double dragon staffs, where shorter props provide more clearance and help reduce collisions between the staffs. They can also be a great option for shorter spinners or anyone who simply prefers the faster, more compact movement of a short dragon staff. Smaller staff, same bad decisions.

Choose Your Dragon Staff Setup

Your Pixie Dragon Staff can be configured with Bonobo Flow, Threeworlds V3, or Threeworlds Ultra hubs for interchangeable fire, LED, and daytime spokes. You can also choose Threeworlds Lumi Dragon Heads, which use their own dedicated hub and spoke system.

Bonobo Flow, V3 & Ultra Hubs

  • Bonobo Flow Hubs: Our most budget-friendly option and the heaviest of the three at 4.5 oz (128g) per hub. These two-piece hubs clamp around the outside of the staff tubing, adding more end weight and rotational inertia for a heavier, more planted feel.
  • Threeworlds V3 Hubs: Versatile 7075 aluminum clamp hubs that install around the outside of the staff tubing. Lighter than Bonobo Flow Hubs while maintaining the versatility of a removable clamp-style system.
  • Threeworlds Ultra Hubs: The lightest and quickest of these three hub options. Ultra Hubs use an internal Fusion pressure-fit connection, allowing the entire hub and spoke assembly to attach or detach from the staff with a quick twist and no tools.

Bonobo Flow, V3, and Ultra hubs share the same spoke connection system, so you can use compatible Bonobo Flow Fire Spokes, Lumi LED Spokes, or Spiral Dragon Claws with the same hubs.

Lumi Dragon Heads

Lumi Dragon Heads are a different system. Each complete head includes its own dedicated hub and spokes, and those spokes are only compatible with the Lumi Dragon Head hub. Rather than using the interchangeable spoke connection found on Bonobo Flow, V3, and Ultra hubs, the complete Lumi Dragon Head pressure fits over the outside of the staff end like a snug cap.

This makes the Lumi Dragon Heads less modular at the individual spoke level, but potentially much faster when switching entire setups. Instead of removing your fire spokes one by one and replacing them with LED spokes, you can remove the complete fire hub assembly and install the complete Lumi Dragon Head.

This is especially convenient when pairing Lumi Dragon Heads with Ultra Hubs. Ultra Hubs allow the complete fire hub and spoke assembly to twist off the staff, while the Lumi Dragon Heads press directly over the staff ends. That means switching between a complete fire setup and complete LED setup can be done without removing individual spokes from either hub system.

Fire, LED & Daytime Options

  • Bonobo Flow Fire Spokes: 7.5 inch (19cm) steel cable spokes with 2 inch (51mm) pure Kevlar wick. Manufactured specifically for Bonobo Flow with slight flexibility to help absorb impact from drops and hard landings.
  • Lumi LED Spokes: Polycarbonate LED spokes powered by rechargeable Threeworlds Lumi light units. Compatible with Bonobo Flow, V3, and Ultra hubs, making these the more modular LED option if you want to use the same hubs across fire, LED, and daytime setups.
  • Lumi Dragon Heads: A complete LED hub and spoke system that pressure fits over the outside of the staff ends. Less interchangeable at the individual spoke level, but convenient for quickly swapping complete LED heads on and off the staff.
  • Spiral Dragon Claws: Durable polyurethane daytime practice spokes with a sculpted spiral design that creates a unique pattern as the staff rotates. Compatible with Bonobo Flow, V3, and Ultra hubs.

6 or 8 Head Configurations

Bonobo Flow, V3, and Ultra hubs accept either 3 or 4 spokes per hub, allowing you to build your Pixie Dragon Staff with 6 or 8 total heads. Keep it lighter with 6, or add 8 for additional end weight and rotational inertia.

Fusion Double Adapter System

Instead of using a standard Fusion center handle, the Pixie configuration uses a Fusion Double Adapter to connect two staff ends directly together. This creates the shorter overall length while preserving the pressure-fit connections that make the Fusion system quick to assemble and break down.

Variations

Grip

  • EPDM: A synthetic black rubber grip that is durable, padded, and reliable in less-than-ideal conditions. It maintains traction in sweat, humidity, and dust, making it a strong choice for outdoor or extended sessions. It becomes more grippy with use. It may leave a small amount of black residue on your hands at first, but it washes off easily. Low maintenance overall, with a short break-in period when new. This is the lightest grip option.
  • F-Grip: A textured natural black rubber tube grip that combines key features of EPDM and silicone. It is easy to clean like silicone but maintains traction better in sweat or dirty conditions. It does not require a break-in period, so it feels consistent right away. Slightly less grippy than silicone in fully dry conditions, but more reliable once moisture is involved. A well-rounded option that performs in most environments and currently the most popular choice.
  • Silicone: High-temperature silicone tubing with a lightly textured surface for added grip. One of the tackiest options when clean and dry, making it ideal for controlled spinning. It is also the easiest to clean. A quick wipe with water or alcohol restores performance. It can lose traction when dirty or sweaty, so occasional cleaning helps maintain consistency.

Material

  • Aluminum 7075: One of the strongest commercially available aluminum alloys. Slightly heavier than carbon fiber and more budget friendly. The added weight creates a more stable, grounded feel during contact, which can help when learning. It is also more forgiving with drops, since it will typically dent or bend rather than break.
  • Carbon Fiber: Lightweight and very strong, making it a popular choice for performance-focused setups. The lighter shaft shifts more weight toward the ends, creating a stronger contact feel. It also has a more dynamic, responsive feel. Best suited for those who prefer a lighter staff and are mindful of their gear during use.

Length

Flow toys are props and tools used in flow arts, which is a movement based art-form that involves object manipulation. Flow props are extensions of your body and tools for self expression.

Despite being called “toys”, flow toys are meant for everyone and you will find that a majority of flow artists are actually adults! Contemporary flow arts include many modalities like dance, martial arts, or just “free-flow.”

The best flow toy to start with is the one that you’re most excited to learn. Although some props might be more difficult to learn than others, this differs greatly from one person to another. We found that the more excited you are to learn a specific prop, the more likely you will be to practice and learn quickly.

Stick props like dragon staff, contact staff, or spin staff can be easier for some since its a more static prop that you can hold onto. Rope props like poi and rope dart require more plane control at the beginning but are also much easier to travel with. Others like flow stars and pixel whips have their own kind of movements that don’t really fall into the other two categories we mentioned. But they’re super popular for ravers and festival goers!

We have a feeling you’ll end up owning more than one type of prop though so regardless of what your friend thinks is the best flow toy to start with, just get whatever you’re most excited to learn!

Fire dancing carries some inherent risks, but if you follow all of our fire safety instructions the risks are very avoidable. We recommend feeling super comfortable with a flow toy before lighting it on fire for the first time.

If you’re new to flow arts, we also recommend getting a daytime practice prop (or even LED prop) since you might be dropping your flow toy a lot when you’re first learning. The Kevlar on fire props can deteriorate much more quickly from repetitive drops, so practice props are ideal to keep them safe.

We have fire, LED, and daytime versions of most of our main props. Even if you can only afford one version and end up starting with a fire prop, they can be protected with wick covers. No matter what type you have, we recommend practicing on soft ground like grass to protect them as much as possible.

We ship our products Monday-Friday from Los Angeles, CA, USA. Many of our listed products are ready-to-ship unless we have to assemble them, which can add a day or two to process. That being said, we ship out orders in the order they are placed within 1-2 business days (with some exceptions like holiday seasons). 

Once shipped, we use USPS for orders in the USA and usually UPS for all international orders. Ground shipping in the US usually takes about 3-5 business days from shipping date, while priority shipping can be between 1-3 business days from shipping date. These are estimations and not guarantees as USPS might have delays, but reach out to us if you are looking for more specific time frames!

We can’t promise any specific shipping timeframes for international delivery as customs can cause many unforeseen delays.

Dragon staffs are staffs with shorter rods, called spokes, attached on each end. These rods often have kevlar wick or LEDs attached and come in sets of 3 or 4 per side. They were inspired by Fei Cha, an ancient Chinese martial arts weapon, and originally produced by Gora.

These staffs are different from regular staffs and can be a fun challenge for flow artists. They are heavier than regular contact staffs because of the added spokes. Because of this, carbon fiber has become a popular option for dragon staffs because it can’t get bent like aluminum and is lighter. That being said, collapsible aluminum staffs are not realistically going to bend either, they are just slightly heavier.

Dragons generally are meant to keep rolling, in comparison to contact staffs that can be kept more static during flow sessions. Heavier staffs do well for slower flow styles and meditative flows, whereas lighter staffs do well for quick direction changes and faster styles of flow.
