The Fusion Staff Pure End Piece is the interchangeable outer tube section used with Fusion Handle Middle Pieces to build a Fusion Collapsible Pure Staff. Two matching end pieces connect to the center handle section to create a full-length collapsible staff ready for compatible dragon staff hubs and heads.

Choose your finished staff length, 7075 aluminum or carbon fiber construction, and preferred grip. This modular design makes the end pieces useful for replacing a damaged section, changing your staff material or grip, or building a custom Fusion setup from individual components.

7075 Aluminum or Carbon Fiber

Choose 7075 aluminum for a heavier, more budget-friendly staff or carbon fiber for a lighter, more responsive setup. Carbon fiber is particularly popular with intermediate and advanced spinners, while aluminum provides a durable and forgiving option at a lower price.

Both materials use tubing with a 7/8 inch (22 mm) outside diameter and 3/4 inch (19 mm) inside diameter, providing compatibility with a wide range of dragon staff components.

Choose Your Grip

End pieces are available with EPDM, F-Grip, or silicone. Each provides a different balance of traction, durability, weight, and performance around moisture. See the Variations tab for a detailed comparison of all three grip options.

Four Staff Lengths

End pieces are available for 55 inch (1400 mm), 59 inch (1500 mm), 63 inch (1600 mm), and 67 inch (1700 mm) finished staff configurations. The selected size refers to the approximate length of the complete staff when two matching end pieces are combined with the appropriate Fusion Handle Middle Piece, not the length of an individual end piece.

For dragon staff, around chin height is a good general starting point. If you’re unsure which size to choose, check out our Staff Length Guide.

Compatible with External Dragon Staff Hubs & Heads

The 7/8 inch (22 mm) outside diameter works with several dragon staff components that mount around the outside of the staff ends, including Bonobo Flow Dragon Hubs, Fusion V3 Dragon Hubs, Flowbonacci Plug Hubs, and Lumi LED Dragon Heads. The 3/4 inch (19mm) inside diameter works with the pressure-fit Fusion Ultra Dragon Hubs as well.

When using these types of components, we recommend installing 22 mm Fusion Removable End Caps inside the staff ends for additional reinforcement. They are particularly recommended for carbon fiber, which is more susceptible to cracking from concentrated external pressure. 7075 aluminum is generally safe to use without them, although the additional reinforcement doesn’t hurt.

Part of the Fusion Modular Staff System

Because the Fusion system is modular, individual sections can be replaced or changed without replacing the entire staff. You can change materials, grips, or staff length while continuing to use compatible Fusion components you already own.

This listing is for one Fusion Staff Pure End Piece only. A complete Pure Staff requires two matching end pieces and a compatible Fusion Handle Middle Piece.

Variations

Grip

  • EPDM: A synthetic black rubber grip that is durable, padded, and reliable in less-than-ideal conditions. It maintains traction well around sweat, humidity, and dust and tends to become grippier as it breaks in. New EPDM may leave a small amount of black residue on your hands at first, but it washes off easily. It requires little maintenance.
  • F-Grip: A textured natural black rubber tube grip that combines some of the best characteristics of EPDM and silicone. It is easy to clean like silicone while maintaining traction better when sweat, moisture, or dirt are involved. It requires no break-in period and provides consistent grip from the start. F-Grip is currently our most popular all-around option and is the heaviest of the standard grips.
  • Silicone: High-temperature silicone tubing with a lightly textured surface. It is one of the tackiest options when clean and dry and is also the easiest to clean. A quick wipe with water or rubbing alcohol can restore its tackiness when dirty. Silicone can lose more traction than EPDM or F-Grip when wet or sweaty, so occasional cleaning helps keep it performing consistently.

Not sure which one to choose? Read our Staff Grip Guide for a more detailed comparison of EPDM, F-Grip, silicone, and other common staff grip materials.

Material

  • 7075 Aluminum: A high-strength aluminum alloy that is heavier and more budget-friendly than carbon fiber. The additional shaft weight creates a more substantial, grounded feel and can make the staff feel more stable while learning. Aluminum is also more tolerant of repeated drops and concentrated pressure from externally mounted dragon staff components.
  • Carbon Fiber: Lightweight and strong, making it a popular choice for intermediate and advanced spinners who prefer a lighter, more responsive staff. Reducing the weight of the shaft shifts a greater percentage of the overall weight toward the ends, which can create a more pronounced rotational and contact feel. Carbon fiber is less tolerant of concentrated crushing or clamping forces than aluminum, so we recommend reinforcing the ends with 22 mm Fusion Removable End Caps when using externally mounted dragon staff hubs or heads.

Want a deeper breakdown of the differences? Read our Aluminum vs. Carbon Fiber in Flow Props Guide.

Length

For a dragon staff, a good starting point is generally around chin height. Your preferred length can vary with your height, experience, and spinning style. For end-wick dragons, we recommend 4-6 inches (10-15cm) longer than chin height. Read our Staff Length Guide for help choosing the right size.

Flow toys are props and tools used in flow arts, which is a movement based art-form that involves object manipulation. Flow props are extensions of your body and tools for self expression.

Despite being called “toys”, flow toys are meant for everyone and you will find that a majority of flow artists are actually adults! Contemporary flow arts include many modalities like dance, martial arts, or just “free-flow.”

The best flow toy to start with is the one that you’re most excited to learn. Although some props might be more difficult to learn than others, this differs greatly from one person to another. We found that the more excited you are to learn a specific prop, the more likely you will be to practice and learn quickly.

Stick props like dragon staff, contact staff, or spin staff can be easier for some since its a more static prop that you can hold onto. Rope props like poi and rope dart require more plane control at the beginning but are also much easier to travel with. Others like flow stars and pixel whips have their own kind of movements that don’t really fall into the other two categories we mentioned. But they’re super popular for ravers and festival goers!

We have a feeling you’ll end up owning more than one type of prop though so regardless of what your friend thinks is the best flow toy to start with, just get whatever you’re most excited to learn!

Fire dancing carries some inherent risks, but if you follow all of our fire safety instructions the risks are very avoidable. We recommend feeling super comfortable with a flow toy before lighting it on fire for the first time.

If you’re new to flow arts, we also recommend getting a daytime practice prop (or even LED prop) since you might be dropping your flow toy a lot when you’re first learning. The Kevlar on fire props can deteriorate much more quickly from repetitive drops, so practice props are ideal to keep them safe.

We have fire, LED, and daytime versions of most of our main props. Even if you can only afford one version and end up starting with a fire prop, they can be protected with wick covers. No matter what type you have, we recommend practicing on soft ground like grass to protect them as much as possible.

After you read the fire safety guide linked above and before lighting up you fire tool, please also read through our safety disclaimer.

We ship our products Monday-Friday from Los Angeles, CA, USA. Many of our listed products are ready-to-ship unless we have to assemble them, which can add a day or two to process. That being said, we ship out orders in the order they are placed within 1-2 business days (with some exceptions like holiday seasons).

Once shipped, we use USPS for orders in the USA and usually UPS for all international orders. Ground shipping in the US usually takes about 3-5 business days from shipping date, while priority shipping can be between 1-3 business days from shipping date. These are estimations and not guarantees as USPS might have delays, but reach out to us if you are looking for more specific time frames!

We can’t promise any specific shipping timeframes for international delivery as customs can cause many unforeseen delays.

Of course! We’re just a text, email, or DM away from being able to answer any question you have. All of our contact details can be found here or you can scroll down to find the buttons in our footer. We’re active on social media too so we are pretty easy to get a hold of!

So happy there is a local flow toy store in LA!! I bought my first dragon staff from here, and just recently bought a flow star for festival season. Next on the list to buy will probably be some poi or a contact staff. Momo is such a sweetheart!
