The Threeworlds Fusion Collapsible Fire & Prism LED Glow Contact Staff Kit combines two complete contact staff configurations into one modular system. Featuring interchangeable fire and LED contact ends, this kit lets you switch between traditional fire spinning and illuminated LED flow using the same collapsible Fusion handle.

Each kit includes two 7075 aluminum fire contact ends with 4 inch (10 cm) Kevlar wicks and two Prism LED contact ends featuring hybrid aluminum and polycarbonate construction. Choose your preferred handle material, grip, and length to create a versatile setup for daytime practice, nighttime performances, and everything in between.

Two Contact Staff Configurations in One Kit

Rather than purchasing separate fire and LED staffs, the Fusion system allows you to swap between two sets of contact ends while keeping the same central handle.

  • Fire Contact Staff: Features 7075 aluminum ends with 4 inch (10 cm) Kevlar wicks for traditional fire spinning and contact movements.
  • Prism LED Contact Staff: Features hybrid aluminum and polycarbonate ends with rechargeable Lumi LED Light Units for illuminated spinning without an open flame.

Both configurations use the same Fusion pressure-fit connection system, making it easy to switch between setups.

Fire Contact Staff Configuration

The included Fusion Contact Fire Ends are constructed from durable 7075 aluminum and fitted with 4 inch (10 cm) Kevlar wicks.

The aluminum construction provides substantial end weight to help maintain rotational momentum during contact rolls, stalls, and transitions. The extended grip area provides traction along most of the staff’s length for consistent contact performance.

Prism LED Contact Staff Configuration

The Prism LED contact ends feature a hybrid construction that combines aluminum and polycarbonate to improve rigidity while maintaining impact resistance and light diffusion.

Compared to traditional LED contact staffs made entirely from polycarbonate, this design helps reduce unwanted flex and wobble during body rolls, pinches, and other technical contact movements.

Each end features a rechargeable Lumi LED Light Unit with multiple colors and lighting modes, along with a distinctive faceted Prism shell that protects the light unit and creates a unique visual appearance.

  • Hybrid Construction: Aluminum and polycarbonate components provide a more rigid, responsive feel.
  • USB-C Rechargeable: Convenient charging without disposable batteries.
  • Multiple Colors & Modes: Customize your lighting effects for different performances and environments.
  • Prism End Caps: Geometric faceted shells protect the light units while enhancing their appearance.

Collapsible Fusion Design

Both configurations use the Threeworlds Fusion modular system, allowing the staff to separate into three sections for easier transportation and storage.

The expanding pressure-fit connectors secure the components together with a simple twisting motion, creating a stable connection without permanent fasteners through the tubing.

For assembly instructions and maintenance information, read our Fusion Pressure-Fit Connector Guide.

Choose Your Handle & Grip

The included Fusion Staff Handle is available in either high-strength 7075 aluminum or lightweight carbon fiber. Since both sets of contact ends remain the same regardless of your handle selection, choosing carbon fiber reduces the weight of the central section while maintaining the same end weight.

Choose between EPDM, F-Grip, and silicone tubing to customize the traction, cushioning, and feel of your staff.

Expand Your Fusion Setup

The Fusion system is designed around interchangeable components, allowing you to expand beyond the included fire and LED contact configurations.

Compatible dragon staff hubs, pure ends, spokes, and other modular accessories can be added separately to create additional setups using the same handle.

Explore our Staff Components for compatible accessories and replacement parts.

Fire Safety & Maintenance

Fire spinning involves inherent risks and requires proper training, safety equipment, and precautions. Always inspect your staff, Fusion connectors, and Kevlar wicks before use. Ensure all connections are securely tightened, and never spin fire without appropriate safety measures in place.

Before lighting up, please review our Safety Disclaimer, Fire Safety for Flow Arts Guide, and Fire Prop Maintenance Guide for important safety information and care instructions.

Variations

Grip

  • EPDM: A synthetic black rubber grip that is durable, padded, and reliable in less-than-ideal conditions. It maintains traction well around sweat, humidity, and dust and tends to become grippier as it breaks in. New EPDM may leave a small amount of black residue on your hands at first, but it washes off easily. It requires little maintenance.
  • F-Grip: A textured natural black rubber tube grip that combines some of the best characteristics of EPDM and silicone. It is easy to clean like silicone while maintaining traction better when sweat, moisture, or dirt are involved. It requires no break-in period and provides consistent grip from the start. F-Grip is currently our most popular all-around option and is the heaviest of the standard grips.
  • Silicone: High-temperature silicone tubing with a lightly textured surface. It is one of the tackiest options when clean and dry and is also the easiest to clean. A quick wipe with water or rubbing alcohol can restore its tackiness when dirty. Silicone can lose more traction than EPDM or F-Grip when wet or sweaty, so occasional cleaning helps keep it performing consistently.

Not sure which one to choose? Read our Staff Grip Guide for a more detailed comparison of EPDM, F-Grip, silicone, and other common staff grip materials.

Material

  • 7075 Aluminum: A high-strength aluminum alloy that provides a heavier, more substantial feel. The additional handle weight creates a more evenly distributed weight profile throughout the staff. Aluminum is also durable and more tolerant of repeated drops and impacts, making it a reliable and budget-friendly option.
  • Carbon Fiber: Lightweight and strong, making it a popular choice for spinners who prefer a lighter, more responsive staff. Since both sets of contact ends remain the same regardless of your material selection, choosing a carbon fiber handle reduces the weight of the center section while maintaining the same end weight. This creates a more pronounced end-weighted feel that can be beneficial for contact rolls and rotational momentum.

Want a deeper breakdown of the differences? Read our Aluminum vs. Carbon Fiber in Flow Props Guide.

Length

For a contact staff, we generally recommend starting around chin height, although some spinners prefer a slightly shorter staff depending on their experience and spinning style.

Read our Staff Length Guide for a more detailed breakdown of contact staff sizing and help choosing the right length.

Staff Flowers

Staff flowers help slow down rolling speed, providing more control during contact movements depending on your spinning style. They also add weight near the ends of the staff, which can improve weight distribution for contact rolls and help maintain rotational momentum.

Flow toys are props and tools used in flow arts, which is a movement based art-form that involves object manipulation. Flow props are extensions of your body and tools for self expression.

Despite being called “toys”, flow toys are meant for everyone and you will find that a majority of flow artists are actually adults! Contemporary flow arts include many modalities like dance, martial arts, or just “free-flow.”

The best flow toy to start with is the one that you’re most excited to learn. Although some props might be more difficult to learn than others, this differs greatly from one person to another. We found that the more excited you are to learn a specific prop, the more likely you will be to practice and learn quickly.

Stick props like dragon staff, contact staff, or spin staff can be easier for some since its a more static prop that you can hold onto. Rope props like poi and rope dart require more plane control at the beginning but are also much easier to travel with. Others like flow stars and pixel whips have their own kind of movements that don’t really fall into the other two categories we mentioned. But they’re super popular for ravers and festival goers!

We have a feeling you’ll end up owning more than one type of prop though so regardless of what your friend thinks is the best flow toy to start with, just get whatever you’re most excited to learn!

Fire dancing carries some inherent risks, but if you follow all of our fire safety instructions the risks are very avoidable. We recommend feeling super comfortable with a flow toy before lighting it on fire for the first time.

If you’re new to flow arts, we also recommend getting a daytime practice prop (or even LED prop) since you might be dropping your flow toy a lot when you’re first learning. The Kevlar on fire props can deteriorate much more quickly from repetitive drops, so practice props are ideal to keep them safe.

We have fire, LED, and daytime versions of most of our main props. Even if you can only afford one version and end up starting with a fire prop, they can be protected with wick covers. No matter what type you have, we recommend practicing on soft ground like grass to protect them as much as possible.

After you read the fire safety guide linked above and before lighting up you fire tool, please also read through our safety disclaimer.

We ship our products Monday-Friday from Los Angeles, CA, USA. Many of our listed products are ready-to-ship unless we have to assemble them, which can add a day or two to process. That being said, we ship out orders in the order they are placed within 1-2 business days (with some exceptions like holiday seasons).

Once shipped, we use USPS for orders in the USA and usually UPS for all international orders. Ground shipping in the US usually takes about 3-5 business days from shipping date, while priority shipping can be between 1-3 business days from shipping date. These are estimations and not guarantees as USPS might have delays, but reach out to us if you are looking for more specific time frames!

We can’t promise any specific shipping timeframes for international delivery as customs can cause many unforeseen delays.

Contact staffs are a unique type of flow prop designed for dynamic movements and intricate body rolls. Unlike traditional staffs that are primarily held in the hands, contact staffs are designed to maintain contact with the body, rolling smoothly across the arms, shoulders, back, and neck. They typically should be be sized for chin height. The added end weight allows for better center point balance and stability during rolls. Contact staffs are one of the most popular tools used in both fire and LED performances.

Other kinds of staffs include spin and double staffs. Spin staffs are not as heavily weighted as contact staffs, so they can be spun much more quickly. This is popular for more martial arts styles of movement where contact manipulation isn’t used as much. Double staffs are shorter than spin and contact staffs. Because of two tools being used, it allows for more complex patterns of spinning as well as geometric shapes that can be created.
