The Threeworlds Fusion Collapsible Contact & Dragon Fire Staff Kit combines a full fire contact staff with removable dragon staff hubs and Bonobo Flow Fire Spokes, giving you two fire props built around the same collapsible staff. Spin it as a contact staff with fire wicks on both ends, or add the hubs and spokes to turn it into an 8 or 10 head fire dragon staff.
With fire at both ends of the staff plus your choice of 6 or 8 additional fire spokes, this is one of the most fire-heavy configurations in our collapsible staff lineup. It is heavier than a pure dragon staff, but that additional end weight provides greater rotational inertia and a planted feel during contact rolls. If your priority is maximum fire presence rather than keeping everything featherweight, you’re in the right place.
Two Fire Staffs in One
- Contact Staff: Remove the dragon hubs and spokes to use the setup as a collapsible fire contact staff with 4″ Kevlar end wicks.
- Fire Dragon Staff: Add 3 or 4 spokes to each hub for a total of 6 or 8 spokes. Combined with the two contact staff end wicks, this creates an 8 or 10 head fire dragon staff.
- Collapsible Design: The Threeworlds Fusion pressure-fit system allows the staff to break down into three sections for easier transportation and storage.
Choose Your Dragon Staff Hubs
- Bonobo Flow Hubs: Our most budget-friendly option and the heaviest of the two at 4.5 oz (128g) per hub. The two-piece clamp design allows the hubs to install directly around the staff below the end wicks, adding even more end weight and rotational inertia to an already substantial fire setup.
- Threeworlds V3 Hubs: 7075 aluminum clamp hubs that install around the outside of the staff below the end wicks. V3 Hubs are lighter than the Bonobo Flow Hubs while retaining the versatility of a removable clamp-style system.
Both hub options accept either 3 or 4 spokes per hub and can be completely removed when you want to return the setup to a standard fire contact staff.
Bonobo Flow Fire Spokes
The included Bonobo Flow Dragon Staff Fire Spokes are manufactured specifically for Bonobo Flow and designed to be compatible with Bonobo Flow and Threeworlds dragon staff hubs.
- Semi-Rigid Steel Cable: Provides a sturdy spoke structure with a small amount of give to help absorb impacts from drops.
- Pure Kevlar Wick: Each spoke is wrapped with replaceable Kevlar wick for a substantial flame.
- 7.5 inch (19 cm) Long: Provides additional end weighting while keeping the fire positioned away from the central staff.
- Serviceable Design: Wick can be replaced when worn rather than replacing the entire spoke.
Fire Contact Staff Ends
- Construction: 7075 aluminum
- Wick: 4″ pure Kevlar
- Dual Purpose: Function as the two fire heads of the contact staff and remain in place as additional fire heads when converted into a dragon staff.
Staff Construction
- Three-Piece Fusion Pole: Uses Threeworlds pressure-fit connections for quick assembly and breakdown.
- Material Options: Choose between 7075 aluminum or carbon fiber to customize the weight and feel of your staff.
- Grip Options: Available with Silicone, EPDM, or F-Grip.
- Modular System: Built around the Threeworlds Fusion ecosystem, allowing compatible components to be changed or added as your setup evolves.
More Than Just Fire
The clamp hubs aren’t limited to fire spokes. Bonobo Flow and V3 Hubs also accept compatible Lumi LED Spokes and Spiral Dragon Claws, allowing the same contact staff core and hubs to be configured for LED or daytime dragon flow. Fire Safety & Maintenance
Fire spinning involves inherent risks and requires proper training, safety equipment, and precautions. Always inspect your staff, connectors, hubs, spokes, and Kevlar wicks before use. Make sure all components are securely attached, and never spin fire without appropriate safety measures in place.
Before lighting up, please review our Safety Disclaimer, Fire Safety for Flow Arts Guide, and Fire Prop Maintenance Guide for important safety information and care instructions.
Variations
Grip
- EPDM: A synthetic black rubber grip that is durable, padded, and reliable in less-than-ideal conditions. It maintains traction well around sweat, humidity, and dust and tends to become grippier as it breaks in. New EPDM may leave a small amount of black residue on your hands at first, but it washes off easily. It requires little maintenance.
- F-Grip: A textured natural black rubber tube grip that combines some of the best characteristics of EPDM and silicone. It is easy to clean like silicone while maintaining traction better when sweat, moisture, or dirt are involved. It requires no break-in period and provides consistent grip from the start. F-Grip is currently our most popular all-around option and is the heaviest of the standard grips.
- Silicone: High-temperature silicone tubing with a lightly textured surface. It is one of the tackiest options when clean and dry and is also the easiest to clean. A quick wipe with water or rubbing alcohol can restore its tackiness when dirty. Silicone can lose more traction than EPDM or F-Grip when wet or sweaty, so occasional cleaning helps keep it performing consistently.
Not sure which one to choose? Read our Staff Grip Guide for a more detailed comparison of EPDM, F-Grip, silicone, and other common staff grip materials.
Material
- 7075 Aluminum: A high-strength aluminum alloy that is heavier and more budget-friendly than carbon fiber. The additional shaft weight creates a more substantial, grounded feel and can make the staff feel more stable while learning. Aluminum is also more tolerant of repeated drops and concentrated pressure from externally mounted dragon staff components.
- Carbon Fiber: Lightweight and strong, making it a popular choice for intermediate and advanced spinners who prefer a lighter, more responsive staff. Reducing the weight of the shaft shifts a greater percentage of the overall weight toward the ends, which can create a more pronounced rotational and contact feel. Carbon fiber is less tolerant of concentrated crushing or clamping forces than aluminum, so we recommend reinforcing the ends with 22 mm Fusion Removable End Caps when using externally mounted dragon staff hubs or heads.

Length
For a dragon staff, a good starting point is generally around chin height. Your preferred length can vary with your height, experience, and spinning style. For end-wick dragon staffs, we generally recommend approximately 4 to 6 inch (10 to 15 cm) longer than chin height.
Since this staff has fire wicks at both ends, choosing a slightly longer length also provides additional usable grip space between the wicks.

Hubs
- Bonobo Flow Hubs: Our most budget-friendly option, featuring a two-piece aluminum clamp design. At 4.52 oz (128 g) per hub, they’re slightly heavier than the V3 Hubs, providing additional end weight and rotational inertia. A great choice for spinners who prefer a heavier dragon staff.
- Threeworlds V3 Hubs: Precision-machined from high-strength 7075 aluminum, these hubs weigh 3.63 oz (103 g) each. Their lighter construction reduces overall staff weight while maintaining a secure, removable connection. A great choice for spinners who prefer a lighter, more responsive setup.
Both options accommodate 3 or 4 spokes per hub and clamp around the outside of the staff, allowing you to remove the hubs and return to a standard fire contact staff. We recommend using 22 mm Fusion Removable End Caps to reinforce the tubing where the hubs attach, particularly with carbon fiber staffs.
