The Threeworlds Fusion Collapsible Pure Staff is a versatile modular staff designed for flow artists who want the freedom to customize their setup without owning a separate staff for every spinning style. Available in lightweight carbon fiber or durable 7075 aluminum, it combines the feel of a full-length staff with the convenience of a compact, collapsible design.
Use it as a daytime practice staff, add compatible dragon staff hubs and spokes, or swap the Pure End Pieces for compatible fire or LED contact staff ends. The Fusion system makes it easy to adapt your staff as your flow evolves.
One Staff, Endless Possibilities
The Fusion Pure Staff is built around Threeworlds’ modular connection system, allowing you to change configurations without replacing the entire staff. Each staff includes a Fusion Staff Handle and two matching Pure End Pieces, creating a complete practice staff that’s ready to spin.
When you’re ready to expand your setup, the Pure End Pieces can be replaced with compatible Fusion Contact Fire Ends or Fusion Contact LED Ends. You can also add compatible dragon staff hubs and spokes to transform the staff into a daytime, fire, or LED dragon staff.
Rather than purchasing multiple complete staffs, you can build a collection of interchangeable components around the same Fusion system.
Collapsible for Easy Travel
Traditional full-length staffs can be inconvenient to transport, especially when traveling, attending festivals, or bringing multiple props to a performance.
The Fusion Pure Staff separates into three sections, reducing its packed length to approximately one-third of its assembled size. The individual sections fit conveniently into a Collapsible Staff Bag, making transportation and storage considerably easier.
Secure Fusion Pressure-Fit Connections
The Fusion system uses expanding pressure-fit connectors to join the staff sections without permanent fasteners through the outer tubing. Each connector uses a cam bolt, rubber bushes, and nylon washers that expand against the inside of the staff ends when tightened.
This creates a secure connection while allowing the staff to be assembled or disassembled in seconds. The replaceable connector components also make maintenance straightforward without requiring an entirely new staff.
For assembly instructions and maintenance information, check out our Fusion Pressure-Fit Connector Guide.
Choose Your Material & Grip
Customize your staff with either high-strength 7075 aluminum or lightweight carbon fiber. Aluminum provides a more substantial feel and greater tolerance for impacts, while carbon fiber reduces overall weight for a lighter, more responsive setup.
Choose between EPDM, F-Grip, and silicone tubing to find the combination of traction, cushioning, and durability that works best for your spinning style.
The grip extends toward both ends of the staff, leaving exposed tubing for installing compatible dragon staff hubs and other modular accessories.
Compatible with Popular Dragon Staff Hubs
The Fusion Pure Staff is compatible with a wide variety of dragon staff systems designed for 7/8 inch (22 mm) tubing, including Bonobo Flow Dragon Hubs, Threeworlds Fusion V3 Hubs, Threeworlds Fusion Ultra Hubs, Lumi LED Dragon Staff Heads, Flowbonacci Plug Hubs, Gora Hubs, as well as other compatible 22 mm dragon staff hubs.
For hubs that clamp around the outside of the tubing, we recommend installing 22 mm Fusion Removable End Caps to reinforce the staff ends, particularly when using carbon fiber.
These reinforcing inserts are not required for Fusion Ultra Hubs, which use an internal pressure-fit connection.
Dragon Staff Weight & Length Calculator
Not sure which staff length to choose or how much your finished dragon staff will weigh? Use our Dragon Staff Calculator to find a recommended length based on your height and calculate the approximate total weight of your setup based on your selected staff, hubs, and spokes.
Build Your Staff, Your Way
Whether you’re putting together your first modular staff or expanding an existing Fusion collection, the Pure Staff provides a flexible foundation for contact staff, dragon staff, and general staff spinning.
Start with a complete practice staff and add compatible components whenever you’re ready. One staff, plenty of ways to spin it.
Variations
Grip
- EPDM: A synthetic black rubber grip that is durable, padded, and reliable in less-than-ideal conditions. It maintains traction well around sweat, humidity, and dust and tends to become grippier as it breaks in. New EPDM may leave a small amount of black residue on your hands at first, but it washes off easily. It requires little maintenance.
- F-Grip: A textured natural black rubber tube grip that combines some of the best characteristics of EPDM and silicone. It is easy to clean like silicone while maintaining traction better when sweat, moisture, or dirt are involved. It requires no break-in period and provides consistent grip from the start. F-Grip is currently our most popular all-around option and is the heaviest of the standard grips.
- Silicone: High-temperature silicone tubing with a lightly textured surface. It is one of the tackiest options when clean and dry and is also the easiest to clean. A quick wipe with water or rubbing alcohol can restore its tackiness when dirty. Silicone can lose more traction than EPDM or F-Grip when wet or sweaty, so occasional cleaning helps keep it performing consistently.

Material
- 7075 Aluminum: A high-strength aluminum alloy that is heavier and more budget-friendly than carbon fiber. The additional shaft weight creates a more substantial, grounded feel and can make the staff feel more stable while learning. Aluminum is also more tolerant of repeated drops and concentrated pressure from externally mounted dragon staff components.
- Carbon Fiber: Lightweight and strong, making it a popular choice for intermediate and advanced spinners who prefer a lighter, more responsive staff. Reducing the weight of the shaft shifts a greater percentage of the overall weight toward the ends, which can create a more pronounced rotational and contact feel. Carbon fiber is less tolerant of concentrated crushing or clamping forces than aluminum, so we recommend reinforcing the ends with 22 mm Fusion Removable End Caps when using externally mounted dragon staff hubs or heads.

Length
For a dragon staff, a good starting point is generally around chin height. Your preferred length can vary with your height, experience, and spinning style. For end-wick dragon staffs, we generally recommend approximately 4 to 6 inch (10 to 15 cm) longer than chin height.
