Threeworlds Fusion Contact Fire Staff Ends are interchangeable fire ends for the Fusion modular staff system, combining 7075 aluminum construction with large sushi-roll Kevlar wicks designed for contact staff spinning. Pair two matching ends with a compatible Fusion Handle Middle Piece to build a collapsible fire contact staff.

Available in four staff lengths and three grip options, these ends make it easy to replace part of an existing staff or build a Fusion setup around your preferred length and grip.

Sushi-Roll Kevlar Fire Wicks

Each end features a large sushi-roll style Kevlar wick designed to provide substantial fuel capacity and a consistent flame. The wick placement also concentrates weight toward the ends of the staff, helping create the momentum and rotational stability used in contact staff techniques.

As with any fire wick, avoid allowing the Kevlar to continue burning once the available fuel has been consumed. Burning Kevlar dry dramatically accelerates wear. See our Fire Prop Maintenance Guide for more information on wick care.

7075 Aluminum Construction

The shaft is constructed from high-strength 7075 aluminum for a durable contact staff end that can handle the drops and impacts that come with regular practice and performance.

Each end is available with EPDM, F-Grip, or silicone grip. See the Variations tab for a detailed comparison of the three grip materials.

Four Staff Lengths

Choose between 55 inch (1400 mm), 59 inch (1500 mm), 63 inch (1600 mm), and 67 inch (1700 mm) finished staff configurations. The selected size refers to the approximate length of the complete staff when two matching Contact Fire Ends are combined with the appropriate Fusion Handle Middle Piece, not the length of an individual end piece.

For contact staff, we generally recommend starting shorter than you would with a dragon staff. Check out our Staff Length Guide for a more detailed breakdown.

Build a Fire Contact & Dragon Staff Combo

The 7/8 inch (22 mm) outside diameter also allows compatible dragon staff hubs to be mounted over the Contact Fire Ends. This includes Fusion V3 Dragon Hubs and Bonobo Flow Dragon Hubs, as well as compatible Gora hubs.

This allows the same staff to combine contact staff wicks with dragon staff spokes, giving you a fire contact and dragon staff configuration without building an entirely separate staff.

Part of the Fusion Modular Staff System

Fusion Contact Fire Ends can be removed and exchanged with other compatible Fusion components, allowing one center handle to support multiple staff configurations. Swap between fire contact, LED glow, pure staff, or compatible dragon staff setups depending on what you want to spin.

This listing is for one Fusion Contact Fire End only. A complete fire contact staff requires two matching ends and a compatible Fusion Handle Middle Piece.

Fire Safety

Fire contact staffs should only be used with appropriate training, adequate clearance, and proper fire safety equipment. Before use, review our Fire Safety for Flow Arts Guide and Safety Disclaimer.

Variations

Grip

  • EPDM: A synthetic black rubber grip that is durable, padded, and reliable in less-than-ideal conditions. It maintains traction well around sweat, humidity, and dust and tends to become grippier as it breaks in. New EPDM may leave a small amount of black residue on your hands at first, but it washes off easily. It requires little maintenance.
  • F-Grip: A textured natural black rubber tube grip that combines some of the best characteristics of EPDM and silicone. It is easy to clean like silicone while maintaining traction better when sweat, moisture, or dirt are involved. It requires no break-in period and provides consistent grip from the start. F-Grip is currently our most popular all-around option and is the heaviest of the standard grips.
  • Silicone: High-temperature silicone tubing with a lightly textured surface. It is one of the tackiest options when clean and dry and is also the easiest to clean. A quick wipe with water or rubbing alcohol can restore its tackiness when dirty. Silicone can lose more traction than EPDM or F-Grip when wet or sweaty, so occasional cleaning helps keep it performing consistently.

Not sure which one to choose? Read our Staff Grip Guide for a more detailed comparison of EPDM, F-Grip, silicone, and other common staff grip materials.

Length

  • 55 inch (1400 mm): Uses 19.7 inch (500 mm) contact staff end pieces.
  • 59 inch (1500 mm): Uses 21.7 inch (550 mm) contact staff end pieces.
  • 63 inch (1600 mm): Uses 23.6 inch (600 mm) contact staff end pieces.
  • 67 inch (1700 mm): Uses 25.6 inch (650 mm) contact staff end pieces.

We recommend sizing a contact staff similarly to a dragon staff, with approximately chin height being the gold standard for most spinners. Your ideal length can still vary depending on your height, experience, and preferred style of spinning. Read our Staff Length Guide for a more in-depth breakdown and help choosing the best size for you.

SKU 3WCSFE Category Brand:

Flow toys are props and tools used in flow arts, which is a movement based art-form that involves object manipulation. Flow props are extensions of your body and tools for self expression.

Despite being called “toys”, flow toys are meant for everyone and you will find that a majority of flow artists are actually adults! Contemporary flow arts include many modalities like dance, martial arts, or just “free-flow.”

The best flow toy to start with is the one that you’re most excited to learn. Although some props might be more difficult to learn than others, this differs greatly from one person to another. We found that the more excited you are to learn a specific prop, the more likely you will be to practice and learn quickly.

Stick props like dragon staff, contact staff, or spin staff can be easier for some since its a more static prop that you can hold onto. Rope props like poi and rope dart require more plane control at the beginning but are also much easier to travel with. Others like flow stars and pixel whips have their own kind of movements that don’t really fall into the other two categories we mentioned. But they’re super popular for ravers and festival goers!

We have a feeling you’ll end up owning more than one type of prop though so regardless of what your friend thinks is the best flow toy to start with, just get whatever you’re most excited to learn!

Fire dancing carries some inherent risks, but if you follow all of our fire safety instructions the risks are very avoidable. We recommend feeling super comfortable with a flow toy before lighting it on fire for the first time.

If you’re new to flow arts, we also recommend getting a daytime practice prop (or even LED prop) since you might be dropping your flow toy a lot when you’re first learning. The Kevlar on fire props can deteriorate much more quickly from repetitive drops, so practice props are ideal to keep them safe.

We have fire, LED, and daytime versions of most of our main props. Even if you can only afford one version and end up starting with a fire prop, they can be protected with wick covers. No matter what type you have, we recommend practicing on soft ground like grass to protect them as much as possible.

After you read the fire safety guide linked above and before lighting up you fire tool, please also read through our safety disclaimer.

We ship our products Monday-Friday from Los Angeles, CA, USA. Many of our listed products are ready-to-ship unless we have to assemble them, which can add a day or two to process. That being said, we ship out orders in the order they are placed within 1-2 business days (with some exceptions like holiday seasons).

Once shipped, we use USPS for orders in the USA and usually UPS for all international orders. Ground shipping in the US usually takes about 3-5 business days from shipping date, while priority shipping can be between 1-3 business days from shipping date. These are estimations and not guarantees as USPS might have delays, but reach out to us if you are looking for more specific time frames!

We can’t promise any specific shipping timeframes for international delivery as customs can cause many unforeseen delays.

Of course! We’re just a text, email, or DM away from being able to answer any question you have. All of our contact details can be found here or you can scroll down to find the buttons in our footer. We’re active on social media too so we are pretty easy to get a hold of!

This category includes Threeworlds Fusion components and modular staff hardware for collapsible contact staffs, dragon staffs, and spin staffs. You’ll also find Flowbonacci plug hubs, dragon staff heads, and other compatible staff components as we continue expanding our offerings.

We stock staff ends, collapsible handles, dragon staff hubs and kits (V3, Ultra, Plug Hubs), spokes, cam bolts, nylon washers, rubber bushings, connector hardware, and assembly tools. These parts are designed for building, maintaining, or upgrading modular staff systems with pressure-fit and collapsible designs.

Our goal is to make it easier to source Threeworlds Fusion components, Flowbonacci parts, and other modular staff hardware within the USA so you are not waiting on international shipping for small but essential pieces.

We are actively growing this category to support more collapsible staff models and dragon staff systems. If you do not see the specific component you need, reach out and we will help you track it down.
