The UltraPoi UltraHoop is a rechargeable LED hula hoop available in two lighting configurations: the simple automatic UltraHoop Shuffle or the brighter, user-controlled UltraHoop Remote. Both versions combine customizable hoop sizing and tubing options with bright RGB lighting, removable rechargeable batteries, and a partially collapsible design for easier storage and travel.
Choose the Shuffle if you want to turn your hoop on and let it handle the light show for you. Choose the Remote if you want more LEDs and direct control over your colors and patterns while you flow.
UltraHoop Shuffle vs. UltraHoop Remote
The biggest difference between the two versions is how much control you want over your lighting.
- UltraHoop Shuffle: Uses up to 30 RGB LEDs and automatically cycles through built-in color palettes and patterns. There are no buttons or menus to navigate while spinning. Turn it on and the hoop automatically changes its display approximately every 60 seconds.
- UltraHoop Remote: Uses up to 60 RGB LEDs and includes a remote control, allowing you to change the light modes yourself. This is the better choice when you want more control over the look of the hoop for performances, choreography, or matching a specific aesthetic.
Both versions include colorful fades, solid colors, strobe effects, and other dynamic LED patterns.
Beginner Friendly with Room to Progress
Hula hoops have a surprisingly high skill ceiling, but getting started doesn’t require learning a complicated electronic prop at the same time. The UltraHoop keeps its controls simple so you can spend more time actually hooping.
Larger hoops generally rotate more slowly around the body, making them easier for beginners to keep moving. Smaller hoops rotate faster and are commonly preferred as hoopers progress toward faster off-body tricks, isolations, tosses, and multi-hoop techniques.

Choose Your Tubing
UltraHoops are available with different tubing materials and diameters so you can choose a setup that matches your preferred weight and handling.
HDPE is the more durable and rigid option and is a solid choice for beginners or anyone prioritizing durability. PolyPro is more responsive and flexible, making it popular with more experienced hoopers, although it can become more brittle in very cold temperatures.
Thinner 5/8 inch tubing creates a lighter hoop with a smaller profile in the hand, while 3/4 inch tubing creates a larger, heavier feel and accommodates a higher-capacity battery.
Removable Rechargeable Batteries
Rather than permanently sealing the battery inside the hoop, the UltraHoop uses a removable rechargeable 3.7 V lithium-ion battery. This means a depleted battery can be swapped for a charged one instead of putting the entire hoop on the sidelines while you wait for it to recharge.
The exact battery size depends on the tubing selected. The 3/4 inch hoops use a larger 14500 battery, while 5/8 inch Featherweight hoops use a smaller 10440 battery.
These are specialized rechargeable 3.7 V lithium-ion batteries. Standard disposable AA or AAA batteries should not be used in the UltraHoop.
Partially Collapsible for Travel & Storage
The UltraHoop disconnects at its connection point and can be partially coiled for easier transportation and storage. It does not break down into small individual sections, but being able to reduce the overall footprint makes traveling with a full-size hoop considerably less awkward.
After being stored or shipped in a coil, allow the hoop time to regain its circular shape before use.
