Our Mega Isis Fire Poi deliver a time-tested combination of durability, impressive burn times, and the smooth feel of Technora tethers. Built around large 100% Kevlar heads, these are the bigger cousins of our regular Isis Fire Poi and a great choice when you want more fire without an unnecessarily heavy setup.

Now available with your choice of relaxed 5mm Technora rope or semi-static 8mm Technora rope, you can customize how your poi respond based on your preferred style of spinning.

Choose Your Tether

  • Relaxed 5mm Technora: A softer, more flexible tether with a loose and fluid feel. Great for spinners who prefer their poi to move naturally and don’t want much structure from the rope itself.
  • Semi-Static 8mm Technora: A firmer tether that holds its shape more than relaxed rope while still maintaining some flexibility. The added structure provides more feedback and predictability, especially during tosses, stalls, and other technical movements.

Not sure which one fits your style? Check out our full guide to relaxed, semi-static, and static poi tethers for a deeper comparison.

Why Technora?

  • No Hot Metal Tethers: Replacing traditional metal chains with Technora reduces one of the more unpleasant ways to get burned while spinning fire.
  • Strong & Lightweight: Technora provides exceptional strength to weight ratio ideal for fire flow toys.

Connection Options

  • Quicklink: Makes it easy to remove or swap your poi heads. The additional hardware can introduce a small amount of movement between the tether and head.
  • Direct Connect: Creates a cleaner, wobble-free connection with a more responsive feel. A great option if you prioritize precision and don’t need to swap your heads.

Optional Poi Knobs

Poi knobs can be added to complete your setup, providing a comfortable grip for spinning while opening up tosses, catches, and other handle-based techniques. They’re optional for spinners who already have their own preferred knobs and don’t need another set.

Features

  • 100% Kevlar Heads: Large wick heads designed for substantial flames and extended burn times.
  • Two Tether Options: Choose relaxed 5mm or semi-static 8mm Technora to match your preferred style of spinning.
  • Optional Poi Knobs: Add knob handles if you prefer a more versatile handle setup for tosses and catches.
  • Safe Build: Spin fire safely without relying on metal chain that can burn you.
  • Built for All Levels: A reliable setup for everyone from newer fire spinners to experienced performers.

Important Care Tips

  • Never soak Technora tethers in fuel.
  • Avoid leaving burning poi stationary on the ground for longer than 10 seconds.
  • With proper care, Technora tethers can often outlast the Kevlar heads themselves. Yeah, they’re pretty tough.
  • Fire safety links are included with your purchase. Please read before spinning as per our terms of agreement.

Pick your preferred tether, connection, and handle setup, then go make some irresponsibly large circles of fire. Responsibly, of course.

Flow toys are props and tools used in flow arts, which is a movement based art-form that involves object manipulation. Flow props are extensions of your body and tools for self expression.

Despite being called “toys”, flow toys are meant for everyone and you will find that a majority of flow artists are actually adults! Contemporary flow arts include many modalities like dance, martial arts, or just “free-flow.”

The best flow toy to start with is the one that you’re most excited to learn. Although some props might be more difficult to learn than others, this differs greatly from one person to another. We found that the more excited you are to learn a specific prop, the more likely you will be to practice and learn quickly.

Stick props like dragon staff, contact staff, or spin staff can be easier for some since its a more static prop that you can hold onto. Rope props like poi and rope dart require more plane control at the beginning but are also much easier to travel with. Others like flow stars and pixel whips have their own kind of movements that don’t really fall into the other two categories we mentioned. But they’re super popular for ravers and festival goers!

We have a feeling you’ll end up owning more than one type of prop though so regardless of what your friend thinks is the best flow toy to start with, just get whatever you’re most excited to learn!

Fire dancing carries some inherent risks, but if you follow all of our fire safety instructions the risks are very avoidable. We recommend feeling super comfortable with a flow toy before lighting it on fire for the first time.

If you’re new to flow arts, we also recommend getting a daytime practice prop (or even LED prop) since you might be dropping your flow toy a lot when you’re first learning. The Kevlar on fire props can deteriorate much more quickly from repetitive drops, so practice props are ideal to keep them safe.

We have fire, LED, and daytime versions of most of our main props. Even if you can only afford one version and end up starting with a fire prop, they can be protected with wick covers. No matter what type you have, we recommend practicing on soft ground like grass to protect them as much as possible.

After you read the fire safety guide linked above and before lighting up you fire tool, please also read through our safety disclaimer.

We ship our products Monday-Friday from Los Angeles, CA, USA. Many of our listed products are ready-to-ship unless we have to assemble them, which can add a day or two to process. That being said, we ship out orders in the order they are placed within 1-2 business days (with some exceptions like holiday seasons).

Once shipped, we use USPS for orders in the USA and usually UPS for all international orders. Ground shipping in the US usually takes about 3-5 business days from shipping date, while priority shipping can be between 1-3 business days from shipping date. These are estimations and not guarantees as USPS might have delays, but reach out to us if you are looking for more specific time frames!

We can’t promise any specific shipping timeframes for international delivery as customs can cause many unforeseen delays.

Of course! We’re just a text, email, or DM away from being able to answer any question you have. All of our contact details can be found here or you can scroll down to find the buttons in our footer. We’re active on social media too so we are pretty easy to get a hold of!

Poi are one of the most popular flow props in the world, consisting of weights attached to tethers that are swung rhythmically. They are usually used in sets of two, although three or more can be used for more complex spinning or juggling styles of poi flow. They come in a wide range of styles, from simple sock poi for beginners to elaborate fire and LED poi for experienced performers.

Poi spinning involves swinging the heads in various directions and timing, creating complex geometric shapes. The most common combinations are Same Direction Same Timing, Opposite Direction Same Timing, Same Direction Different Timing, Opposite Direction Different Timing.

Contact poi are a common style of poi nowadays, because the weighting allows for cleaner stalls and tosses. Other common types are glowstick style, snake poi, and stingers. Fabric poi are generally recommended for complete beginners because they don’t hurt as much when you hit yourself during the learning phase.
