The Threeworlds Lumi Collapsible LED Glow Spin Staff is a compact, rechargeable LED staff designed for fast, baton-style staff spinning. Available in three lengths from approximately 35 inch to 43 inch (900 to 1100 mm), these are intentionally shorter than traditional contact staffs and are built for spins, tosses, catches, and other hand-based staff manipulation rather than contact spinning and body rolls.

Each staff uses two rechargeable Lumi LED Light Units inside semi-translucent white polycarbonate ends. The diffused tubing spreads the light across the ends of the staff, while the silicone-gripped center provides a defined handling area for quick and controlled movement.

Made for Spin Staff, Not Contact Staff

Spin staffs and contact staffs may look similar, but they are designed around different styles of movement. The Lumi Spin Staff is shorter and uses a compact silicone-gripped center with smooth, ungripped LED ends. This makes it well suited for baton-style spinning, tosses, catches, hand rolls, and faster manipulation.

If your goal is extended body rolls and other traditional contact staff techniques, a longer, fully gripped contact staff will generally be the better tool for the job. The Lumi Spin Staff is for when you want something shorter, faster, and considerably more glowy.

Diffused Lumi LED Ends

Each end contains a rechargeable Lumi LED Light Unit with a variety of preset color modes. Rather than using fully transparent tubing, the polycarbonate ends have a semi-translucent white finish that helps diffuse the LEDs across the length of the staff for a more even illuminated appearance.

Each end is finished with a Lumi Pro Spiral End Cap, adding protection while allowing the illumination to continue through the silicone cap.

Faster Twist-Lock Assembly

The newer Lumi Spin Staff replaces the previous metal push-button connector with a specially molded connector integrated directly into the center handle. A locking button extends from each connector and engages with the corresponding hole in the LED end piece.

Simply twist the end to engage or release the locking button when assembling or collapsing the staff. The updated design makes setup and breakdown considerably faster, with fewer separate components to fuss with when you’re trying to get your staff together and actually spin it.

Three-Piece Collapsible Design

The staff separates into one silicone-gripped center handle and two illuminated end pieces, making it much easier to transport and store than a fixed-length staff. When assembled, the connectors disappear inside the end pieces to create a compact central grip surrounded by smooth illuminated tubing.

Three Sizes for Different Spinning Styles

The Lumi Spin Staff is available in 35 inch (900 mm), 39 inch (1000 mm), and 43 inch (1100 mm) lengths. The smaller staff is the quickest and most maneuverable, while moving up in size gives you a larger visual footprint and a little more rotational presence. The medium size sits comfortably between the two.

Unlike a traditional contact staff, these sizes are not intended to correspond to chin height or other contact staff sizing conventions. Choose based on how compact or substantial you want the staff to feel while spinning.

Rechargeable & Replaceable Lights

The Lumi LED Light Units are USB-C rechargeable, eliminating the need for disposable batteries. The removable light units can also be replaced separately if needed rather than requiring replacement of the entire staff.

Flow toys are props and tools used in flow arts, which is a movement based art-form that involves object manipulation. Flow props are extensions of your body and tools for self expression.

Despite being called “toys”, flow toys are meant for everyone and you will find that a majority of flow artists are actually adults! Contemporary flow arts include many modalities like dance, martial arts, or just “free-flow.”

The best flow toy to start with is the one that you’re most excited to learn. Although some props might be more difficult to learn than others, this differs greatly from one person to another. We found that the more excited you are to learn a specific prop, the more likely you will be to practice and learn quickly.

Stick props like dragon staff, contact staff, or spin staff can be easier for some since its a more static prop that you can hold onto. Rope props like poi and rope dart require more plane control at the beginning but are also much easier to travel with. Others like flow stars and pixel whips have their own kind of movements that don’t really fall into the other two categories we mentioned. But they’re super popular for ravers and festival goers!

We have a feeling you’ll end up owning more than one type of prop though so regardless of what your friend thinks is the best flow toy to start with, just get whatever you’re most excited to learn!

Fire dancing carries some inherent risks, but if you follow all of our fire safety instructions the risks are very avoidable. We recommend feeling super comfortable with a flow toy before lighting it on fire for the first time.

If you’re new to flow arts, we also recommend getting a daytime practice prop (or even LED prop) since you might be dropping your flow toy a lot when you’re first learning. The Kevlar on fire props can deteriorate much more quickly from repetitive drops, so practice props are ideal to keep them safe.

We have fire, LED, and daytime versions of most of our main props. Even if you can only afford one version and end up starting with a fire prop, they can be protected with wick covers. No matter what type you have, we recommend practicing on soft ground like grass to protect them as much as possible.

After you read the fire safety guide linked above and before lighting up you fire tool, please also read through our safety disclaimer.

We ship our products Monday-Friday from Los Angeles, CA, USA. Many of our listed products are ready-to-ship unless we have to assemble them, which can add a day or two to process. That being said, we ship out orders in the order they are placed within 1-2 business days (with some exceptions like holiday seasons).

Once shipped, we use USPS for orders in the USA and usually UPS for all international orders. Ground shipping in the US usually takes about 3-5 business days from shipping date, while priority shipping can be between 1-3 business days from shipping date. These are estimations and not guarantees as USPS might have delays, but reach out to us if you are looking for more specific time frames!

We can’t promise any specific shipping timeframes for international delivery as customs can cause many unforeseen delays.

Of course! We’re just a text, email, or DM away from being able to answer any question you have. All of our contact details can be found here or you can scroll down to find the buttons in our footer. We’re active on social media too so we are pretty easy to get a hold of!

Contact staffs are a unique type of flow prop designed for dynamic movements and intricate body rolls. Unlike traditional staffs that are primarily held in the hands, contact staffs are designed to maintain contact with the body, rolling smoothly across the arms, shoulders, back, and neck. They typically should be be sized for chin height. The added end weight allows for better center point balance and stability during rolls. Contact staffs are one of the most popular tools used in both fire and LED performances.

Other kinds of staffs include spin and double staffs. Spin staffs are not as heavily weighted as contact staffs, so they can be spun much more quickly. This is popular for more martial arts styles of movement where contact manipulation isn’t used as much. Double staffs are shorter than spin and contact staffs. Because of two tools being used, it allows for more complex patterns of spinning as well as geometric shapes that can be created.
