The Thud 4-Panel Beanbag Juggling Ball is a classic 120 g juggling ball designed for practice, performance, and workshops. Made in the UK with a soft, slightly stretchy synthetic fabric and sterilized millet seed filling, the Thud has a comfortable, moldable feel in the hand while maintaining the durability needed for regular juggling. Each colorway alternates two colored panels with two black panels, giving every ball its distinctive two-tone design.
They’re called “Thuds” for a pretty practical reason: when you drop one, it tends to stay where it lands instead of rolling halfway across the room. For anyone learning a new juggling pattern, that means a little less time chasing balls and a little more time actually juggling them.
Soft, Moldable 4-Panel Construction
The four-panel construction creates a rounded 65 mm ball with enough flexibility to mold comfortably into your palm. The slightly stretchy outer material gives the Thud a soft, squeezable feel rather than the rigid feel of many inexpensive juggling balls.
That flexibility is particularly useful for multi-ball catches and manipulation, where being able to securely catch and hold several balls in one hand can make a noticeable difference.
120 g Weight for a Substantial Feel
Each Thud weighs approximately 4.2 oz (120 g), giving it a substantial and predictable feel in the air without being excessively heavy. The sterilized millet seed filling allows the ball to deform slightly when caught or dropped while still maintaining its overall shape.
At approximately 2.6 inch (65 mm) in diameter, the Thud is a versatile size suitable for beginner practice, experienced juggling, and general ball manipulation.
Built for Regular Practice
Strong, low-profile machine stitching and durable synthetic fabric make these considerably more robust than the average toy-store juggling ball. They’re suitable for individual practice but are also a proven option for juggling classes and workshops where props tend to see a lot more abuse than anyone wants to admit.
The combination of durability, manageable size, and forgiving beanbag construction makes the Thud approachable for new jugglers without turning it into a beginner-only prop. More experienced jugglers can still appreciate the consistent weight, comfortable catch, and hand-molding construction.
A Juggling Ball That Stays Put
Unlike rigid or hollow juggling balls, the millet-filled beanbag construction absorbs much of the impact when the Thud hits the ground. Instead of immediately rolling away, it generally stays close to where it lands, making repeated practice considerably less annoying.
