The Threeworlds Fusion Double Adapter expands the Fusion system by allowing two compatible collapsible staff ends to connect directly together without a center handle. Using the same pressure-fit connection system found throughout the Threeworlds Fusion lineup, this small adapter can turn staff components you already own into entirely different props.

Most commonly, the Double Adapter is used to create a Pixie Dragon Staff, a shorter dragon staff built from two compatible Fusion staff ends. It can also connect compatible fire contact staff or LED staff ends to create a compact spinning staff. Same parts, different prop.

Fusion Pressure-Fit Connections

Each side of the Double Adapter uses a Fusion cam bolt with rubber bushes and nylon washers. Twisting the connected staff section compresses the rubber bushes inside the tubing, creating the pressure-fit connection that holds the sections securely together.

A 2mm set screw on each end helps retain the cam bolt if the connection is loosened excessively, keeping the internal hardware from casually wandering off when you’re breaking down your prop.

What You Can Build

  • Pixie Dragon Staff: Connect two compatible dragon staff ends to create a shorter dragon staff for double dragon flow, shorter spinners, or anyone who prefers a faster and more compact setup.
  • Short Fire Staff: Connect two compatible Fusion fire contact staff ends to create a compact fire spinning staff.
  • Short LED Staff: Connect compatible Fusion LED staff ends for a compact LED spinning staff.

Tubing Compatibility

The Fusion Double Adapter is designed for compatible tubing with a 3/4 inch (19mm) internal diameter. This is generally found on 7/8 inch (22mm) OD Fusion staff tubing, but internal diameter is the important measurement for the pressure-fit connection.

Approximate Finished Lengths

Your finished staff length depends on the two Fusion end sections being connected. The Double Adapter replaces the center handle section, allowing the two ends to connect directly together.

  • From a 59 inch (1500mm) Fusion Staff: Two 19.7 inch (500mm) ends create an approximately 39.4 inch (1000mm) staff.
  • From a 61 inch (1550mm) Fusion Staff: Two 21.7 inch (550mm) ends create an approximately 43.3 inch (1100mm) staff.
  • From a 63 inch (1600mm) Fusion Staff: Two 23.6 inch (600mm) ends create an approximately 47.2 inch (1200mm) staff.
  • From a 67 inch (1700mm) Fusion Staff: Two 25.6 inch (650mm) ends create an approximately 51.2 inch (1300mm) staff.

Flow toys are props and tools used in flow arts, which is a movement based art-form that involves object manipulation. Flow props are extensions of your body and tools for self expression.

Despite being called “toys”, flow toys are meant for everyone and you will find that a majority of flow artists are actually adults! Contemporary flow arts include many modalities like dance, martial arts, or just “free-flow.”

The best flow toy to start with is the one that you’re most excited to learn. Although some props might be more difficult to learn than others, this differs greatly from one person to another. We found that the more excited you are to learn a specific prop, the more likely you will be to practice and learn quickly.

Stick props like dragon staff, contact staff, or spin staff can be easier for some since its a more static prop that you can hold onto. Rope props like poi and rope dart require more plane control at the beginning but are also much easier to travel with. Others like flow stars and pixel whips have their own kind of movements that don’t really fall into the other two categories we mentioned. But they’re super popular for ravers and festival goers!

We have a feeling you’ll end up owning more than one type of prop though so regardless of what your friend thinks is the best flow toy to start with, just get whatever you’re most excited to learn!

Fire dancing carries some inherent risks, but if you follow all of our fire safety instructions the risks are very avoidable. We recommend feeling super comfortable with a flow toy before lighting it on fire for the first time.

If you’re new to flow arts, we also recommend getting a daytime practice prop (or even LED prop) since you might be dropping your flow toy a lot when you’re first learning. The Kevlar on fire props can deteriorate much more quickly from repetitive drops, so practice props are ideal to keep them safe.

We have fire, LED, and daytime versions of most of our main props. Even if you can only afford one version and end up starting with a fire prop, they can be protected with wick covers. No matter what type you have, we recommend practicing on soft ground like grass to protect them as much as possible.

We ship our products Monday-Friday from Los Angeles, CA, USA. Many of our listed products are ready-to-ship unless we have to assemble them, which can add a day or two to process. Ground shipping in the US usually takes about 3-5 business days from shipping date, while priority shipping can be between 1-3 business days from shipping date. So happy there is a local flow toy store in LA!! I bought my first dragon staff from here, and just recently bought a flow star for festival season. Next on the list to buy will probably be some poi or a contact staff. Momo is such a sweetheart!
