Isis Fire Snake Poi combine long pure Kevlar rope heads with short static Kevlar tethers to create a fire poi setup with large flames, flowing movement, and more structure than traditional loose fire snakes. They’re best suited to intermediate and advanced fire spinners comfortable working with larger amounts of burning wick.
Long Kevlar Snake Heads
Instead of using a compact wick head, each poi uses a long section of pure Kevlar rope that creates an extended line of fire while spinning. The result is a very different visual from traditional fire poi, with flames distributed along the length of the head rather than concentrated into a single point.
The ends of the Kevlar heads are mechanically secured to help prevent the rope from unraveling during use and extend the usable life of the construction.
Static Kevlar Tethers
The short Kevlar rope tethers have a static construction that keeps the poi more structured and responsive than a relaxed rope setup. This makes them particularly well suited to stalls, direction changes, and technical movements where predictable positioning matters.
Silicone poi knobs provide a comfortable and secure connection at the hand while keeping the setup free from hot metal chain tethers.
Built for Experienced Fire Spinners
The amount of exposed wick makes Isis Fire Snake Poi a substantial step up from smaller fire poi. The larger flame profile and longer burning surface require greater awareness of flame position, body clearance, surroundings, and fuel management.
Before spinning, thoroughly remove excess fuel and inspect the Kevlar heads, tether connections, and knobs for wear or damage. For additional information, read our Fire Safety for Flow Arts guide, fire prop maintenance guide, and Safety Disclaimer.
If regular fire poi aren’t quite enough fire for you anymore, apparently the next logical step is setting most of the poi on fire.
