About Hoop

Hoops, also known as hula hoops, are one of the most easily identifiable flow props. Although they are popular for kids, they have blown up in the flow arts world in the past couple decades. Hoops are circles and can be used on-body, off-body, as juggling props, or even connected to create shapes. They are also a traditional Native American tool used in many ceremonies and dances. Larger, heavier props are more popular as fitness hoops and used more for on-body spinning, whereas smaller hoops are used more for off-body spinning. The most popular material for hoops is polypropylene (aka polypro) or HDPE.
