About Fire Props

Fire props are flow props that have kevlar wicking. This allows them to be dipped in fuel so that they can be ignited. When properly used and cared for, many fire props can last over a hundred burns before needing the wick to be replaced.

Fire Spinning has been gaining popularity worldwide. Although it’s still a niche relative to other performing arts, it’s one of the most sought after performance types. Although fire poi, knives, or staffs were originally some of the most popular fire tools, now there is an abundance of fire toys used in the scene.

Fire props generally either have knotted wicks or flat wicks. Flat wick props are the most common and affordable, whereas knotted wicks have beautiful designs and compact weighting. Make sure you have a good quality fire prop if you choose to start your fire journey. Some lower quality props are made of alternative wicking materials other than kevlar which is NOT RECOMMENDED, such as ceramic wick (white colored). If you’ve never spun fire before, please read the Fire Safety Guide in the Resource section before continuing.
